    A few days late, but this was the only thing I caught in April.

    Geez Buzz I live in Maryville and have never seen a spider like that what kind is it?

    When I was fishing on the White River in Arkansas, I saw some spiders that looked similar to this one. Someone told me that they were "brown" tarantulas which are smaller than their bigger cousins out west.

    Wonder if that was one of them? Sure looks like what I saw previously!

    This looks like it might be what is known as a "Mouse Spider". If so, it is highly venemous and is capable of a nasty, painful bite. Scroll down on the following link to see for yourself. Yikes!

    more likely a funnel-web or trap-door spider. Fairly common around here. Big and ugly, but fairly harmless.

    Yeah probably Jay. I have never heard of one of many mouse spiders around here but then again it could be someones escaped pet . People let them out at newfound gap all the time when they get tired of feeding and taking care of them.

    I'm pretty sure it's a trap door spider. I also think a mouse spider is a trap door spider. Here's another picture to get an idea of its size.
