    Default Bucket List Item

Hooked up with fellow board member Gary Troutman as part of my 64th birthday present and managed my first smallmouth on a fly...this was a "bucket list" item and what a treat it was.

BTW, I'm going to be tying the fly that caught that bass this weekend at Troutfest. It's called a "girdle bugger". simple but effective fly but a staple smallie and trout fly in my box. Come by my table sunday afternoon,

What a nice fish! Congrats! I love the darker ones for whatever reason. Way to go!

Gary actually did fish with one of his fiberglass rods that morning while we were trout fishing in the Park...I finished my trip the next evening with my fiberglass 3wt on Jake's Creek....Gary and I have sons the same age and for a while it looked like they were both going to Alabama...mine still is and Gary's has decided to go to UT....I truly enjoyed fishing with Gary and learned a lot that day.

Hey Jim, I took my glass 3wt down last evening after work for some redbreast and caught a few bass also. Should be pretty good when you come back in town. This was my last one of the evening about 15 min. after it got dark.
