    Hi guys and gals,
I live in Madison, AL and have been fly fishing for a little over a year. I mainly fish the Elk river in TN as it is the closest tailwater to me. For a while I have been wanting to experience brook trout fishing. A couple of weekends ago, I went with a buddy to fish for my first time in the park and go after my first brookie. Needless to say I accomplished my goal and then some. Had an awesome time and I can't wait to get back up there and try again!

If you ever want to fish the elk give me a holler. I don't go much, but try to at least a coupe of times a month. That will decline once deer season opens. As for another National Championship, judging from what I saw Saturday, we need a miracle. I'll be there this Saturday as we begin SEC play against MS State, hopefully they will be a better team by then!

Nice! Aren't they some of the prettiest fish you have ever seen? I love the Specs!! Congrats and welcome to the board, you'll enjoy it I'm sure. Lots to learn, and remember, when you have a question about something particular, get on this board and search it. There's lots of knowledge in the archives to draw from regarding about everything flyfishing. Tight lines!!

    Default Welcome ATB

Glad you had a great first outing in the Park!
Great Photos! Careful though, that Brookie Slime is some powerful Mojo Juice... There ain't no rehab that'll get that outta your system.

I too am from AL (B'ham) but we'll have to agree to disagree on Football...but a Trout Fishing Aub is better than a regular Aub ANY day in my book!LOL

I hope you guys put the State Dogs back in the Dog House...they're licking their chops a little too loudly for my taste...I have about 6 of them working for me, and I haven't heard them barking this loudly in many years! Go get'em Kitty!

You mentioned the Elk, but have you fished the Sipsey Tailrace much? My Brother and I get up there as often as possible ( sadly not often enough) and would gladly catch up with you...we're not all bad heck! He's an Aub too!

Give me a shout here and we'll catch some time on the Sip!

If you are looking towards the Elk one day maybe You and I could hook up and head that way (we'll drag AL Trout Bum outta the tree stand as we go thru) although I have scouted out the Elk at the Dam many times I have yet to wet a hook there. I'd love a crash course sometime this fall!

    Plunker,
I am used to the "dark side" (aka-crimson tide) LOL. My mom and brother are AL fans while my dad and I are Aub fans. I have been to the Sipsey once or twice. It's a little slow for me and the Elk is actually closer and has browns!!!! Anytime you wanna go let me know. As for State this weekend, God help us!!!!
