Default 5/15 Another Nice Little River Brown!

I was able to get to the park this afternoon and trick this nice brown into biting. He taped at 15" and was a very chunky fish. I guess the fish gods are shining on me. My last two trips to the park have produced two nice browns!!

I ended up catching two nice rainbows around 12" a couple of smallmouth and lost another brown probably 13" range.

Question Is a Brown, Rainbow, and Bass considered a slam

Maybe we can call that a low elevation Smokies Slam

Looks like your having some nice trips. Thanks for sharing

I'm just glad there is someone beside Mr Knapp to provide us with some nice big Brown shots

I'm planning to fish after the acid decomposition sampling on Sat, but a little worried about all the fisherman around for Troutfest. I'm sure I'll see at least one of you guys out there

To add to the low elevation slam I also managed a redhorse. I also had a nice heart racing moment when a water snake slid right through my feet while scooting along a rock bank. I think they probably heard the oh **** in Townsend!

I think you also have to add a couple of shiners to low elevation slam.

Very nice...wouldn't worry too much about the snakes. There are no moccasins (sp?) in that area that I know of. A copperhead along the bank is a much bigger possibility that a poisonous snake in the water.

You try to go for a 'snake slam'

Northern Water Snake, copperhead, rattle snake?

    Any takers?

Bonus if you can hook and release all three.

If they aren't poisonous I don't mind...just have to keep 'em from getting those sharp teeth on ya. Copperheads, rattlesnakes, etc I handle with a hoe or a pistol.

I knew there were no cottonmouths in the park but for a boy that grew up in Mississippi this was naturally my first thought. When they come sliding down a rock bank at the speed of light there resemblance to a cottonmouth is very close.

I am going to have to pass on the smokies snake slam! I also read where there are 23 differnet snake species in the park. I am fine if I never see any of them.

5wt, That is a great brownie! Any tips on the technique or flies you used to fool that guy? Not wanting any honeyholes, just curious as to the technique to fool one of the flyfishers most elusive quarry!
    Thanks,
