Default Heading Up to Fish Camp Prong 7/3

Getting up early to make the trek to FCP for a day trip. Only second time up this far. Any info on how far up you have to go before Specks start showing up? Also, does Goshen prong have them or Rainbows predominant? Thanks,

Talking I was up there yesterday

I fished a little bit above the cascades and only caught rainbows.

Earlier in the year I remember it being mostly Brookies around 23.

Water temp was 66 degrees on Little at Fish Camp confluence, and 65 degrees about 3/4 mile upstream. I would hike as much as you can as the fishing will be better the higher you go and there will also be a higher concentration of Brookies.

I remember catching some rainbows in lower end of all feeders. Also look at where Siler's moved it's confluence about a hundred yards from where the maps shows. Cool wash of rocks up there that really shows the immense power of nature.

Make sure to use a dropper as that how 2/3 were caught, and they absolutly killed the yellowhammer.

    Have Fun

I have caught brookies in the lowest 1/2 mile of Fish Camp but am guessing they aren't too prevalent at that elevation...

If you are going that far and are looking for brookies I think you might have better luck above CS24 up toward #30....the rainbows run Goshen Prong all the way to the waterfall which presents a natural barrier....I like the section heading up to the old Three Forks area around #30 since you can usually pull a slam out of the same water without leaving.

    Default On FCP Tuesday

I was on FCP Tuesday from about 8:30 until 6:00. We caught 70 Brookies and Rainbows. Most all were caught with a Yellow Sallie and a nymph dropper. We began fishing at the first waterfall and finished at the old Campsite 25. We saw a group of 5 persons from Atlanta with Zebcos and a man and woman fishing above the Goshen Prong intersection. This was on Tuesday. We had a BLAST!
