    Default Farewell Trip

Yesterday I took a sort of farewell trip to the mountains. I just accepted a job in Colorado near Boulder for the upcoming school year and will be moving soon and just had to go to the mountains one last time. Thankfully I still have family around so will get to return, just not as often as I might like.

I got to fish with my buddy Ethan and have to thank him for taking some great pictures for me. We saw a lot of nice fish out and about and I managed to fool a couple of really pretty fish. Neither was particularly large but left me with great memories that will remind me of home as I move out west.

Both browns came on my version of an Isonychia soft hackle. I'll really miss my favorite mountains but am looking forward to adventures in the Rockies that will hopefully include some fishing.

I know I would miss Southern Appalachia, but the fish are bigger out west. I'm sure you will enjoy it out there. What out for the bears, I hear they are meaner out there.

Great pictures of browns, I have not met you personally only thru your posts here, but I appreciate your reports, your positive attitude and love for the outdoors. Colorado will be a great adventure and I wish you the best in this next chapter of your life and please send reports back to the message board.

    David -

I've enjoyed reading your posts, and especially enjoyed fishing the Caney with you. Hopefully you'll post frequently in Fly Fishing for Trout in Other States.

    Best of luck out there...

Thanks guys! I fully intend to still hang out on here and hopefully contribute some out of state reports. Once I figure out my schedule and free up some time I intend to look into the great fishing Colorado has to offer. The area I will be in offers trout as well as warm water species and even some cool stuff like tiger musky. Definitely looking forward to the adventure!!!
