    Default Taking Mom Fishing

Had a great opportunity to finally get out and fish since the rain moved. Started the day early by picking Mom up at 630. After biscuits and gravy for breakfast at the corner market headed over to see Dean at the Fly Shop on the Hiwassee. 2 generators still pushing water, I was glad to see the water had cleared up.

Headed up the river to finally get the drift boat in and thanks to Charlie and the shuttle service Hiwassee Anglers offers, I had a ride waiting for me at the end of the float.

Had to get an early picture of mom before crossing the river.

Seeing life come full circle is what I saw taking this picture. The new Helios 2 gave mom her first trout on a dry as well.

She couldn't get the casting down on her first trip with the fly rod so I broke out a spinning rod and several hookups like one.

Mom was amazed at how clear the water was and the abundance of underwater plant life on the river bottom. Sure this has a lot to do with the excellent fishing on the river right now.

On our way out we stopped at the over look near the stair steps and I can only hope that here, she was reflecting on a great day.

Here another pic together, just hoping I could get the remote thing to work with the camera. It did!!

Wow. What a day. Then came home and finished putting our garden together with my boys and mom.

Thank You Mom for a wonderful day!!!
