    Default Roaring Fork 7/18

Went up Roaring Fork this morning. The water was absolutely perfect. Had on a snowshoe Sally and copper John. Caught several on both the dry and dropper. I was really getting in to it when I happened to look up. Not 20 foot from me was a large bear coming down the creek. We saw each other about the same time. He may have jumped higher than me before he took off up the bank. I decided to move on and climbed back up to the road. A couple of minutes up the road there was another bear standing in the middle of the road. I decided To call it a day before I ran out of luck. Maybe I'll head up Little river tomorrow.

Never thought about a bear disturbing the water upstream

Guess I'll have to watch for bear prints as well as boot prints from here out

I guess better to be upstream from you on your way up than downstream from you on your way back down... Had that happen once when I off trail and the stream was my way back down...

I know if you were in the lower part of Roaring Fork and you climbed out to the road you are part mountain goat...would hate to come face to face with a bear down there

Been there, done that... Wouldn't want to run into a bear down there either...
