    Troutman, do you connect your dropper line by loop knot or tie direct to the loop?

    For the panfish flies, I generally just tie to the loop with an improved clinch knot. Just have to make sure I have my reading glasses on when I nip it off so as not to cut into the loop. I prefer to loop to loop on the big poppers and dropper rigs. A lot less stress on the knot if a heavier fish takes the dropper fly.
