I would fish it as well. If you want to relive any doubt, the Fiberglass Flyrodders website has a wiki that can tell you more about the rods you have specifically and you could always post and find out if they are rare or anything. I know alot of people on that site love the old Fenwicks to fish though. What was the 3rd model you passed on?

It was a 9 ft 8 wt. it was just to heavy and big. I didn't like how it cast. I once was on fiberglass flyrodders but do not remember my user name and pass word. I have been reading a lot of post on there and find them all very interesting.

I don't blame you there. I think I would have passed on it also. I think that 7' 6 would be a nice stick for what you're wanting.

A nice trio of glass sizes once the 4 wt is fixed.

My glass lineup consists of a 7' 3 wt Lamiglass honey, a hand me down 8'6" Horrocks-Ibbotson tobacco glass "frankensteit" that I'm currently refurbishing, and two EC Featherlights that I use as beaters. One 6'6" 5 wt and one 8' 7wt. Great low cost rods that you can beat around canoes and jon boats in that are a lot of fun to fish.

Checked today on sending the diamond glass rod back and they said they would have to just do a swap out for a new rod as they don't have the old blanks anymore so I went by a local shop in central Tenn and looked at one of the new blue blank glass rods in the same size. Very nice rods. I hope to get mine sent back this week.

For anyone interested in why anyone would want a fiberglass rod you may wish to go to the web site for Tom Morgan Rodsmiths at www.troutrods.com and go to the section regarding tom organ's fiberglass rods. It makes for interesting reading. In fact Tom Morgan's thoughts on fly rods in general makes for interesting reading.
