    Default New Technique for Brookies

Here's something for both the minimalists amongst us as well as expert brookie fishermen like Duckypaddler who need to graduate to something more challenging...

Brookie fishing without a fly rod...

You guys are crazy! I thought a cane rod was too much work. And while I love the minimalist approach, I believe a tenkara set up would weigh about the same. I will stick with my TFO in the backcountry and take the 8 piece Crystal River if I have to crawl through lots of rhodo hells to get to the stream as it breaks down really small.

And David thanks for the complement, but I've just reached the status of barely competent in the Brookie world

There are some old pics and possible videos of Joan Wulff during casting demos would outcast people using no rod just line like this. I'll see if I can find in archive stuff if no one has already.

This looks exhausting!! Love catching brookies but, like Ducky, I think I'll stick with my rod. The neat thing to watch here is the whole idea of your rod being an extension of your arm. Shows up famously without the rod on a guy who knows what he's doing.

Leave it up to a PA boy to find the most pointless method of catching natives! I like watching him mend.

    Default Wristkara?

Armkara, wristkara or elbowkara what ever you christen it, I'm interested in the story. Perhaps it will do away with me begging rod manufacturers to advertise in my smut sheet.
