    Default Fun with dubbing

The woodchuck post got me to thinking a little. I started dubbing about 6 months ago and think it makes great looking flies and for most of the simple flies I tie with dubbing, I can make it buggy without hackle. Which I like eliminating because hackle was by far the most expensive material I was buying.

Anyway, my daughter had cleaned out her hair brush and tossed the clump of hair in the trash - so I scooped it up, cut it into smaller pieces and gave it a few whirls in my coffee grinder (dedicated to dubbing btw).

Made a few flies this morning:

I thought they came out pretty good, also have a border collie with a seemingly endless supply of dubbing, I mean hair.....

    Looks pretty good.

I hope it doesn't fish too well or your daughter might have a hard time with the constant hair brushing.

Nice looking fly. I remember when my daughter used to have a rabbit. We would comb his fur and get a never ending supply of dun colored rabbit fur.
