    Default Kids Trout Camp

Saw the "ad" on LRO web-site and was wondering: are the events/activities all handled by GSMIT staff or are they in need of volunteers?

Might be able to plan trip to GSMNP around that time and help out, and was just wondering.

Perhaps, this should have gone in the Conservation / Club board, but since the camp is at GSMIT, figured I was not going to be too out of line by posting here.

    Thanks - -

    Default Trout camp

While trout camp is held at the institute, volunteers with the guidance of Clayton Gist and Dick Gigger teach the fundamentals. Casting, tying, reading water etc. are all taught by mentors. John Thurman organizes the camp. Check with the guys at L.R.O. for email addresses.
I have volunteered for two years and it is great. It is our best effort to pass along the sport we love to our children.

I attended the camp last year and I learned more than words can describe. The fly tying lessons were what got me into tying.
