    Default Holston Fishing Guide

A buddy asked me today to recommend a guide for the holston. After I thought about it awhile I realized I had no idea. Any suggestions on guides? Thanks!

Josh Pfeiffer is recommended as one of the guides on Byron's home page for LRO. He went with us on day 2 of the Beginner Fly Fishing class. I thought he did a great job. I thing Bryon has used him as a guide on recent float trips also.

Does anyone know if Hugh Hartsell retired from guiding?
He would be my recommendation for the Holston (below Cherokee).

His web site says he has retired from guiding, but last I checked, he was running shuttles on the Holston.

    Really?

    Mike Bone or Josh Pfeiffer

There's only one to consider and it's Mike Bone, he's been guiding there long before any of the others. In fact he was fishing it several years before any of the new comers showed up. There is no one that knows that river as well as he does.

If Mike is booked, try Rocky he's the next choice, if he can't do it I'd hire Ian Rudder. Both those guys are really good as well, but Mike is yoda there and the Clinch.

    I'm in agreement with waterwolf.

This would be one of my choices. Several trips like below, with similar results.

I have heard good things about Mike Bone and Ian Rutter! I would try them out if you are spending your hard earned money for the best experience.
