    Default Jacksonville or Pensacola?

So I have a summer internship and I get to pick between jacksonville and pensacola. Which would you rather be for the summer months fishing? I will most likely be wading only, possibly get a kayak if I think its worth it.

I have not fished in either spot but living in south florida I would choose the ocean over the gulf for a few reasons . ocean breeze in the summer versus gulf stagnant heat . both places are going to offer good inshore wading / kayaking opportunities . Jacksonville may be a bit more expensive if that is a factor. being a surfer I will always choose the ocean . Dolphin fishing picks up in the summer and the fishing grounds are much closer in the ocean then the gulf.

I live in Jacksonville. What type of fishing are you interested in? Your post says Kayak/wade so there are lots of places that you can go. Check this website: http://www.jaxkayakfishing.com/ They have a list of places and where to launch. Surfishing is also fun and something you must try http://www.surfishingflorida.com/ If fly fishing check this out http://fcff.org/ Let me know if you need any other info

Really I am open to whatever kind of fishing I can do. If I can catch fish wading the beach or marsh then I would much rather do that than have to buy a kayak or something. I just have never fished saltwater before so I am trying to learn as much as I can ahead of time so come june I can actually catch fish. And I will be in jacksonville I decided.

Wade the surf but remember: anything over your knees and you are now part of the food chain! Do not wade the marsh as this is mostly mud, up to your waist. The closer to the ocean the less mud you will find. Slide your feet along the bottom so you don't step on a stingray. Out going tide is best, but no full moon.
