    Default Tellico River Drainage

does anyone know how the water levels are in some of the Tellico's tributaries like the North or the Bald Rivers? I may be heading that way tomorrow if the streams aren't flooded.

If Little River is high and you can find that info on this site under Fishing Info (Stream Conditions) the Tellico will generally be high.

I went to the head waters of the Bald on Saturday. The water levels were fine but i didn't catch many fish. Maybe my dog had something to do with it. He would swim through the best looking holes before i could fish them. The first hole that i got to before him I caught a 10" brown trout. Then i twisted my ankle pretty bad and had to go home . I think my dog had a good time though

Sorry to hear you hurt yourself, I hope you are doing fine now. I had similar experience on Saturday. I am going to be busy next weekend with a big honey do list so no fishing for me. I'm planning on going to Townsend for the Joe Humphries weekend and might fish Abrams on May 13th or 14th, I will do the baby shoe. HOLLER AT ME IF YOU WANT TO GO? I'm planning on a Hiwassee trip sometime during the Memorial Weekend. That's another trip I'm looking for company on. If you or someone else on here would like to team up please pm?

Drove through on the 26th, in the afternoon and it was roaring high and dirty. I had fished the Hiwassee on Tuesday and early Wednesday and decided to head north when the boomers started rolling in. Since the Tellico was so high I decided to head over to the Citico and was amazed that it was not affected at all by all the rain from Tuesday night and wednesday morning. Was able to take several RB along Double Camp creek. I decided to try and head to Townsend and from the map it looked like the best route was to head to Citico Beach, cross at the Chilhowee Dam and take the Skyway into town. 50 miles total. Unfortunately the TVA didn't have the Itinerant angler in mind, and the dam was closed to traffic by a gate. D. I had to drive about 50 miles out of the way and rolled into Townsend about the time the boomers rolled in.

Chilhowee Dam has been closed a long time. TVA was suppose to build a new bridge (due to the inpoundment of tellico lake) across in that area but never has.

This site won't give you all of the information you seek, but it will give you an idea as what to expect. It is a real cool site, and takes a few minutes of reading and scanning to get a handle on it. Check it out. It gives nearly all drainages that aren't controlled by TVA or the Corps of Engineers. I use it when I go smally fishing on some waters and to gauge what is floatable and not on waters that are free flowing streams.
