    Default Bald River

One off my fondest memories was a trip I took, along with my father, to the head of Bald River. We drove an old jeep to where Brookshire creek starts and walked about a mile up Bald River. The specks were so numberous you could catch 8 or 10 fish without taking a step. I was only a junior in high school at the time,so I know a lot has changed. Can anybody give me an update on that area? O yah I almost forgot we had fried specks with cornbread and ramps: THOSE WERE THE DAYS:

I've only fished for about 2 miles up from the falls. The 2 times I fished it about five years ago, it was great. The rainbows were definitely larger than average for the area (a good 10-12 inches). And below the falls, some of the stockers fill that pool and can be caught on nymphs. A buddy of mine landed 2 large browns there.
