Don't do a lot of nymph fishing but when I do it usually is a BHPT or ye olde Tellico.....while not technically a nymph....best luck in the Park on something wet has been with a Leadwing Coachman

Prefer the rubber-legged copper john but am also partial to the Smokey Mtn Nymph in the right part of the season.

Ya know, this is interesting. I figured that most mountain flyfishermen would use a natural Hares Ear Nymph. Kinda shocking.

    thanks guys

    Russ:

The Smokey Mountain Nymph is an Eastern TN/Western NC version of the prince nymph. I had always bought them at LRO and Randy Ratliff actually posted tying instructions on a separate forum. I have tied some with a copper bead head and varied it with some rubber legs as well. This nymph has been called the "secret weapon" because fish tend to hit it when they won't hit anything else.
