    Default Two good days...

I took a couple of days off from work and took my 18yr old son fishing. We went to Tremont on Thursday and did very well. He caught his first trout pretty quickly on a green weenie. We fished until just before 7pm and caught about 20 bows, with my best coming in at 9.5". We went to the Little River Camground and threw down the tent and had some hot dogs and roasted some marshmellows before turning in. We got up at 5:30 cooked some b-fast packed up and headed out for more. Our first stop was just below Elkmont and I picked up a 10" brown right away. After about an hour we headed up to Road prong and caught plenty of bows and brookies. He caught several and we had a great time. Not sure if I'll get out again this weekend, so good luck to everyone. Don't leave home without a green weenie. Every fish we caught hit the weenie, but one brookie on a #14 yellow body PA.

Glad you did good. How did you do last Sunday? I stayed home and a lot of folks were doing well. If you read my post for Labor Day you saw that I didn't do too good. Difficult fishing.

I'm sure this won't be much of a suprise, but we ended up not camping at #18. By the time we got back and had a bite to eat, time was getting sketchy. Not to mention I think we both were starting to chicken out a little. Mountaineers we are not. It started out that there would be four of us, then that dropped to two, with another guy from the board already supposed to be there. With the weather we were not sure if he would be there either. So it came down to just Mark and myself and that just wasn't good enough.

Back to your question... We fished lower elevation stuff and were sucking at it yet again, so we decided to go back to old faithful (Tremont). We caught plenty of bows and headed home around 2pm.

Are you feeling better? I'm looking forward to a Deep Creek trip soon... I may be able to fish Sunday, but I won't know until late Saturday. I'm out of town next weekend, but after that I should be in good shape. Maybe Clinch, HI, Deep Creek, or 'Luftee...
