    Default holston river

    going to morristown in october . does anyone know are there trout in the holston below cherokee dam. i have no idea, any help would be great :

    I have not fished there yet but yes there are trout below Cherokee dam. I believe the state stocks part of it too.

    The Holston is a good trout fishery and is getting better each year. There are very few wading access points along the river though. Tim Doyle guides on this river as does several other local guides. I do not know of any shuttle services available either. The trout average 10-12" range but there are some larger fish being caught. I love to fish for smallmouth thoughout the year and for a bigger challenge I go after the abundant but sometimes hard to catch CARP!
