I am new to tying and decided to try a Clouser Minnow for my first fly.

Looks great! I have caught lots of Smallies with this color of Clouser minnow.
We can't thank Bob Clouser enough for inventing it!

    Griff,

Your Clouser looks great. Good color choice too. Lefty says, "if it aint chartreuse, it aint no use".

Actually I did, but it took a couple (or 3) tries to get it right.

That's a good looking fly, it will catch fish for sure. Beware that the fly tying addiction will balloon just like everything else in fly fishing... 8-)

I tied a clouser a year ago. couldn't get the hang of the whip finish, so I just tied it off somehow and put a big glob of glue on the end and it held ok. even though it looked pretty good, I never was able to catch a fish on it!
