assuming I have my major necessities (rod, reel, waders, etc)....my top five would go like this....

    #5) polorized sunglasses

#4) a handfull of flies that I just learned to tie

#3) bottled water and a handfull of snacks & a sandwich

#2) trip to LRO for info and fellowship and maybe a few more supplies

#1) my best fishing buddy, Abby (my fiance)

*my personal relationship with my Lord and Savior is a given above all else so I didn't list it......

Excuse my keyboardmanship, I just finished plowing my driveway from the 14" of snow we received last night, so my fingers are a bit frozen.....

    Hey fishlicker,

I like your fly choices!!! Some of my all time favorites. And on a 3wt-all the sweeter...

    Thanks Dryfly,

I've tried alot of different flies over the years while fishing GA, NC and TN and I'm not sure it's the end-all-be-all fly for everyone, but it is for me. I love to skitter that thing across and down when the fish are keying on emerging caddis - they'll knock the socks off 'em and alot of times spurt a foot out of the water trying to catch your fly! I probably fish them with alot more action than most folks - and I do cause some trout to miss em with all the jigglin' and twitchin' - but it's worth it for the way they slam into them! Maybe it's the old bass fisherman in me.

As for the three weight - I own three rods....all three weights! Dry flies to 5-15 inch trout( and lucky if I get to cast to a couple of 15 inchers in a given year)is about all I do - no striper fishin' or monster trout in the 4 pound range usually....although the occasional Nantahala DH fish will give me a run for my money on it - I can usually handle anything I'm lucky enough to hook on my little 3 wts. Even the occasional smallie, although WHEW - they are a HANDFUL!!!

    Hey Fishlicker,

You look familiar. Didn’t you have feathers at one time?
