Default Wautaga and S. Holston shuttle services

I need some info. on the available shuttle services on the Watauga and S. Holston rivers. I'm planning a float in my kayak and will need shuttling back upstream. 2 fishermen and gear and an inflatable kayak and paddle. Any recommendations for both rivers are greatly appreciated.

I believe Jason Reep & his wife provide shuttles up that way, Jason guides on both waters, can't find the # at the moment, you can Google him up.

    Default shuttles

Thanks for the replies guys. Hopefully I'll have a good report after our trip. I've fished both rivers from several access points but never floated them.

Does anyone know of any water hazards, like a class 3 rapid that I need to know about and are there any river maps available? I can float it on low water or on a pulsed flow. I don't want to try it on a full generation flow the first time out.

Gary, I don't recommend foating either river during generation in a kayak. I would think it would be a little tough to manage the boat and fish. Low water won't pose a problem on either but care should be taken on the South Holston because most people wade it on low water. I'd stick to the float below Jacks house if I were you.

Stop by the Flyshop of Tennessee and see Eddie Wyatt.

Yeah below the steelbridge at Jacks house is the best for not seeing many people. Though, when you get down to Big Spings Rd the river really slows down and doesnt give much fast water fishing...
