Made it a half day today at the ole' job and headed for the Caney around lunch. They stopped generating around noon so I fished right below the dam...everywhere else was too high to wade.
I had a great day...landed about 15 rainbows and browns...mostly on a size 20 soft hackle...the others on a zebra midge...even had a few hit the dry I was using for a indicator.
I had one of those..."one that got away" today. It was a really nice rainbow that jumped several times and I had him ready for the net and bam...he was off!!! Ugh...he was really pretty and fought more than any fish I've hooked in my short ff career.
I had a couple of questions. Is there some trick to getting the fish close enough to using your own net...I just seem to never be able to get them that close. Also...do you guys just roll the dice on taking your digital cameras out on the water? Waterproof case? Just curious.
