    Default Priest Hybrid

May is the month for this stuff but as any Hybrid/Striper fisherman will tell you its feast or famine. Been feasting lately and it should continue for a little while. Wish I could stay on the movements of these fish all week! It will soon be too hot to target them and I'll move on the other places and fishy's

Here are just a few of the fish we caught. Note the graph in the photo of Bill and his hog.

Thanks for the kind words. Here's one I forgot to post that shows what these fish do when they see the boat!

    Hey mike,

Great pics! My house is about 3 minutes from Priest lake. I fish it alot during the summer. One of my favorite lakes to fish...

    Default great picts

Mike, You always have such great picts. What is the largest hybrid striper you have ever landed on the fly?
My uncle has caught several on Norris up to 65lb but they were trolling with downriggers. Like to see a pict. if you have it available.

Thanks Troutman you do pretty good with the camera yourself. Do fish that broke me off count, hehhe. My best on the fly was a Striper around 18 to 20 pounds.
I've spent several years chasing these fish with gear and have caught plenty of fish from 10 to 40 pounds. Stripers on the fly is a new endeavor I've been toying with on and off for three years now, more this year then any. The knowledge I've gathered from my years as a gear guy have proved invaluable in the pursuit. These fish are almost as willing to take a fly as anything.

65 pounds is a huge Striper! The state record is only 65 pounds 6 oz!!! Ralph Dallas caught it in the same river system I caught this one.
