    Default Chimney Tops Trail

I've fished a few times up on the Road Prong Trail, and was wondering if anyone has ever fished between the 2nd and 3rd Bridge on the Chimney Tops Trail, as well as the 3rd and 4th. It looks pretty steep and you would have to fish all the way through from bridge to bridge.

If you've fished either stretch, how long did it take? Were there any near impossible obstacles to crawl/climb over?

It looks like it could be some interesting water, assuming it starts raining again...

We fished, I believe, from the third bridge a little ways upstream a few weeks ago. Lovely water, and it didn't take long to lose sight of the gawkers on the trail. We fished up to a very large, deep pool, which was in front of about an 8 foot waterfall. Very pretty, but since we were pressed for time, we turned around at that point. Not too bad wading, but it does get tight in places.

I fished it on opening day in 2006. It is very steep and narrow up above the big falls. I estimate it to be about 4-6 hours of fishing if you start at Chimney Tops trail head. I don't think there would be much water up there now though, considering the drought conditions we are experiencing right now.

    Cool Snakesand Bears, LOL

    Hello Pete,

I have hiked and fished a couple times in that area. There are nothin but huge snakes and well-fed bears in that area. Enter at your own risk.

    Unsincerely,

    Neal

    Nah,
That was just me playing bluegrass music on my guitar. I'm not very good so it sounds like a banjo.

by the way, do you know how to tell if a banjo is in tune?

Don't feel bad, nobody else does either.

    Jeff
