Default Park’s brookie population withstands drought well

Hello all, Swipper found this article (I can't take credit for this one) and i thought y'all might find it interesting. I think we've talked about this before on here but i can't remember. Fishing should be normal, if not better, this upcoming year.

    Default Rainbows up higher

    A quote from this article:

The brook trout has had an advantage over the rainbow because of its location in the high-elevation streams. The higher elevation water temperatures are much colder than in lower elevation areas, which has helped the brook trout survive, Kulp said.

We've talked about this before; rainbows ran further up into the West Prong Little Pigeon (territory where you would normally find mostly brookies), presumably seeking the lower water temps. Didn't make the connection at the time but this does seem to make sense in retrospect.
