My first memories of fishing were with my family while growing up in Kansas. Years later while living in Pennsylvania, I was invited on a fishing trip. What really got my attention about this trip was how beautiful the area was. Itís amazing what you can discover if you slow down and get off the turnpike. I observed people fly fishing for the first time. On the way home I remembered thinking "I want to learn how to do that!" Soon after returning home I was off on another trip with an old fly reel (that my Dad & I had bought somewhere years before), and a new fly rod. Little did I know that trip would turn into a journey and it would be never ending! Why I Fly Fish? It makes me think back to another time in my life, slow down and observe what's around me. Proves to me there are rewards for the road less traveled and allows me to fade away for a while and just fish. My hope is that my children will enjoy fishing and will have as many fond memories of fishing with family and friends as I do.
