Default New guy

Just registered. Been lurking for months but just had to be part of this group. Makes me feel as though I'm sitting around a local shop drinking coffee and passing the time of day with some super nice people!

Talking Welcome!

Welcome to the board Pathfinder! Lots of great people and info here. Its a great place to learn new stuff and to share what you know with others. Fly fishing is just one of those things that when you start, you dont wanna stop, and when your not fly fishin its what you thinking about. Good luck to ya!

Default Hello all

I'm a new poster and fairly new to fly fishing. I was in the Smokies this past weekend. Fished a little on Saturday. The water looked like a stream of Yoo-Hoo. A few nibbles but no takers. Went to Elkmont on Sunday before leaving for home. The water was clearer but still no takers. It is interesting how fly fishermen attract an audience. People will stop by the side of the road just hoping that you catch one. My wife was sitting by the road reading and noticed how visible my fly line was against the water. It's green. Is there any evidence that the color of ones fly line affects success on the water?
