Default wading Elk river when spilling 100cfs

TVA says it is spilling 100cfs on the Elk river. Can you wade the Elk when they are spilling this much? I'm trying to find a place to fish Saturday and all the tailwaters seem to be generating. Thanks. David Moore.

David
We have been we they have been spilling 100 and have not had any problems. They have been generating at weird times lately though so make sure you check the schedule! Have fun and let us know how you do!

Default Elk Wading

Hey David, I grew up on the mountain before I started moving around.

Anyway, 100 CFS is good low water wading. But, mark a spot on the edge of the water (i.e. stack some stones up etc) because TVA has been releasing a at odd times and without too much notice.

I would take some midges and small BHPT's if I were going this weekend. Let us know how it goes.

Again, thanks for the info!! I really appreciate the help. I teach 6th graders and have the next two weeks off for Christmas!!! Flyfishing is my stress relief. I fish the HI, Toccoa, and Caney a lot so I'll keep an eye on the rocks!!!
