Default Blue winged olives

Does anyone have any suggestions for tying blue winged olives in the emerger, dun, or spinner stages?

These are a couple of parachute styles I use. With a parachute you can vary the amount and color of the hackle and the tailing materials to match the stages of bugs you mentioned.

Post My Favorite BWO Pattern!

I like to use (Blue Wing Olive) colored biots for the body wrap. You can get them at LRO . *Sorry BlueRaiderFan; I posted without reading your reply fully...

This is pattern I have been using and it has been good to me. Plus, it is easy to tie up.

Biots...hadn't thought about that one. I have used a green quill. Don't know if it works, but I've tied a couple and will see later this year.

Is the tail supposed to be that long?
