Default North River?

Heading to North River in Tellico soon haven't fished it in years. Is fishing better above or below the North river campground?

Thanks
Tom

I always go up to at least the Donley Cabin then fish up to Camp Site #9 or higher, so I can't speak to the lower stretch. I hear there are some fair sized browns down lower, but where I fish it's mostly all rainbows with an occasional brookie thrown in. If you go on up to where the road crosses over and heads away from the stream, that's supposed to be all brookie territory, but it gets real tight for casting up that way. Good luck, and I hope you have a good day.

I have had good luck from the bridge at the river upstream. Never had occasion to fish the upper end. So much water, so little time!

From Tellico road to the campground...more pressure thus lower catch rates, easier casting, chance for a brown.

From the campground up...higher catch rates, tighter casting, rainbows and brookies.

The last couple of times I went up there I noticed an otter family living just above the bridge that crosses the river above the campground...I don't think they're vegetarians.

If you fish lower watch out for Browns. They should be acting a little squirrely with the spawn coming up. Might be pretty aggresive.
