Tying Challenge: Week 2
Hopefully this week we can get more people involved and perhaps some beginning fly tiers. The fly for this week is an old standby that everyone should have in their box and be fishing if they are in the Smokies, the Gold-ribbed Hares Ear nymph and variations of that pattern. Be creative, try something new with this pattern, or if you are a beginner tier, focus on proportion and show us what you've got. Lots of room for creativity here so have fun!

Ok lets get this thing going ..........here goes the rabbit bug size 16
hook: 16 thread: 8/0 rust tail: hare guard hairs rib: gold wire body: bull frawg dubbing shell back: turkey tail fibers thorax: underfur hares foot in dubbing loop legs: centipede legs  Last edited by olesmoke; 06-26-2012 at 06:51 PM.. Reason: might be out of line.

I like the rubber legs. I have never tied them that way but was wondering if anyone would try that...very nice!
