Hey Marc, What a well written article of a "close encounter of the unwanted kind" in Yellowstone!!! I've been all over YNP and GTNP backpacking, dumpcamping, and hiking since 1990 and have yet to see a whole Griz, (I say whole cause I did see the backend of one as it left the premises). I guess I should consider myself lucky , right?? Again, I enjoyed your article!!

I also have spent many days fishing Slough Crick and not seen a griz, but that's okay. It would have been nice to have gotten some pic's of that vlose encounter.
