Default Hammocks

I have never done any true "back country" camping and fishing but, am considering taking the plunge. I am thinking of getting a Hennessy Expedition hammock. Do any of you have any experience with them or any other recommendations?

I too have been contemplating buying one for summer backpacking or just lounging around camp, but can't seem to pull the trigger on one. I have a pretty nice tent and good sleeping pads, but think that a hammock may just fill an additional niche in my gear list.

I did a search here yesterday on "hammocks" and it resulted in lots of threads. A couple of threads were completely dedicated to backcountry hammock camping.

I used to have a Hennessy Expedition hammock but got rid of it. I sleep on my side or stomach and the hammock just would not allow it. I know several people that swear by them.

May 2010 was the Nashville 100 year flood and that night my brother stayed in the Hennessy Expedition hammock and survived the night. If interested here is the link to the Hennessy hammock survival story .

You don't need to read the entire link to get the point. We have both used the Hennessy Hammock and my brothers being the Expedition for two week long trips a year since 2010. We continue to use the same Hammocks and they both are as good as new. Many of my reports show the Hennessy being a big part of our trips.

I have been looking for one as well. I only have experience lounging around camp in a ENO (not sleeping thru the night). One other site to check out that has some good reviews is http://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/blackbirds.php
although I haven't personally used them.

Default Here's a link

This forum has discussions on anything and everything to do with Hammocks and discusses the good or bad about various kinds and brands.
