Question What was that?

I fished this a.m. (Sat.) in the weir pool above the steps and didn't do much good. there was quite a bit of activity near where I was as far as fish movement was concerned, but I don't think it was for the better as far as fishing goes. I may sound ignorant , but there were some BIG fish that moved through the water and made a wake like a torpedo chasing other fish. I never got a look at one of them, but if you've ever seen a carp take off in front of a float boat, you know what I'm talking about. Could these have been stripers that far up?

Sounds like trout chasing scuds which were out and swimming. I have seen that before up there, and the fishing can be very tough when that occurs.
