Default Roaring Fork  - Patterns

Any advise for fly patterns on the Roaring Fork. I've heared stones work piticulaly will there. Also any advise as to what stretches fish best. The river is loaded with falls and pools. Some area look alittle hazardous. Probably shouldn't go alone. Heared from a guy who said It's not fished often becasue theres a problem with snakes. Maybe he's just trying to protect a great fishing location. Always wanted to fish there but never made it. Going to do it this next trip

I have fished this area for the last couple of years....the largest water is at the lower end of the loop road. There is a pull off just before you exit the park with a couple of trees next to the road. This is a good place to put in....you can get to the water pretty easy here and go upstream or down...if you go up you should go with someone...you are deep down and ofter out of site of the road....there are at least two spots in there where you have to go up and around several large bolders to keep fishing...you will be bushwacking.....if you get in there first there is no way anyone will be cutting in on you....an 8" trout is big but there are a lot of beautiful bows in there...a lot of fall pools...do not try this is the water is running full...

STONES AND BUSHY STUFF, THUNDERHEADS, EH CADDIS,ETC. IN THE HOT TIMES YOU MAY SEE A SNAKE BUT LIKE THE OTHER GENTLEMEN SAID THE ROCKS ARE THE REAL DANGER. JUST TAKE IT SLOW AN YOU WILL HAVE FUN.
