Try this link. http://www.mwt.net/~westfork/

My brother and I generally go up in May (he's in Chicago, I'm northeast TN) to catch the tail end of the caddis hatch. We stay at this campground and meander around looking for water. There is a small store just across the stream from the campground (swinging foot bridge) where you can pick up flies, drinks, etc. and pay for the camping. Firewood at the house next door. Owners are very friendly and you can pick up some real maple syrup from the local Amish. Richland Center to the south has a WalMart and Westby to the north has an IGA type grocery store.

PM me if you need more info

I fished in the Dodgeville area in the early 1990's. There are a lot of spring creeks there. The great thing is that there is public access along the banks! The state owns easements along the streams, which are fenced, and there are ladders over the fences at the roads. Just find a place where the stream of your choice crosses a public road, and you're in! There was a small fly shop in the area. The spring creeks are pretty. The reason I can't tell you more is that I got a 3-day migraine headache, and didn't feel up to fishing any more.

Here's a link to a Wisconsin fly fishing site. *It has a message board like this one.

http://www.wisflyfishing.com/

We camped at Gov. Dodge State Park in Dodgeville.

If the original poster is still following this thread, I have a large map of Southwestern Wisconsin which has all the trout streams on it. It cost $5.00 in the early '90s, so it's probably at least $10.00 now. If you live in the Knoxville area and want to borrow the map, e-mail me privately, and I'll loan it to you.

In addition to the wonderful spring creeks in WI's Driftless region, to your east you have the storied waters of MI. We have another fly fishing site with an informative forum that you will want to look at: www.UpperMidwestFlyFishing.com

A couple of books that should find their way into your fly fishing library are: Fly Fishing Midwestern Spring Creeks and Flies that catch trout (UpperMidwest year-round guid) by ross Mueller.

Ironically, we are going to fishing in your home waters in East Tennessee for the first time the first of week of May. I am looking forward to the trip.

Best,
David Dornblaser
