Default Trip report 10-6/10-7

Had a great time this weekend camping at Elkmont. The leaves are colorful and the air is cool and crisp. Dry flies are still working well. Para. Adams and Stimulators on 5X tippet were on the menu on Saturday. My 13 year old Son caught 3 trout by himself after some refresher casting time on a nice long pool below the campground. I highly recommend taking time to enjoy the Mtns and the great fishing as it will revive the soul.

Troutman,

It was nice to meet you this weekend. We got up Sunday and headed up above the Alum Cave trailhead. We parked at the trailhead which was covered up with people and headed upstream. It was really good. We took turns each fishing the next hole up and caught fish in about every deep pool. We only had a couple of hours to fish as we wanted to hit the Tuck and maybe the Nat. Left the park around noon and we never made it to the Nat. The Tuck was too awesome., You should definitely take your son. Nice wadeable river thats really wide. No worries about tree fishing. *

Take care,
