south bend fiberglass

bought a payne south bend fiberglass rod-8ft--it looks old-has a wood insert-it is yard sale stuff--looks bad to badder--feels light in hand --casts like a dream-no sock or tube---I think if the rod could talk it would want restoration--what do you thin??---------gave $12.00 for the rod
