North Georgia Brook Trout

I fished a favorite North Georgia stream of mine on Saturday. It was a wonderful day to be alone in the mountains. The temps were mild, the scenery was spectacular, and the fishing wasn't too bad either. I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story.

I measured them by the enjoyment I got out of catching them. They were all huge!

The first one is the fattest Speck I have every caught. He was not really long, maybe 9". I've caught some bigger out of there, maybe 12 -13". A little research concluded that the strain of brook trout in that particular stream is noteworthy for obtaining larger than average size.
