Default Panfish and popping bugs...

I took my stepson, Tanner, and his cousin Jarred to a small lake in North Carolina today. Had not fished here in several years and did not know what to expect. What a day they had. Tanner thinks we caught close to a hundred bream and red-breast. I don't know if caught that many, but I know it was a lot. The best thing was that this was his cousin's first experience with a fly rod and Tanner's second time out with one. I was teaching two first timers casting out of a boat ,in ninety plus degree weather. Can you imagine? It turned out well though. Their casting improved throughout the day and the fish got a little better as the day went on. Saw some nice bass but they were not in the mood to bite. I'm pretty sure they want to go back. This next week I'll spend some time on the Soho during my week off. Looking foward to fishing some hatches up there.
