I did! I used to watch that show and really liked it. Hank was a great dog. Didn't he get a new dog named Des?

In the heat of summer I love fishing in my shorts. Felts with neoprene shocks works great it comfortable and cool. Some times the nettles and stuff can be a problem but wet wading is the way to go in the summer.

It really just depends on the person. Some people wear waders in July fishing in a foot of water, other will wet wade in March.
Personally, I usually don my waders around the end of October/first of November and I am wet wading by the end of March/first of April. Wet wading gear for me is PGF quick dry long pants, neoprene booties, and wading boots. Long pants to fight of the nettle.

I don not own waders at all. I wet wade starting in March and ending in late October. I just wear convertible hiking shorts, neoprene booties, and my Keen sandals.

My legs are still cut underneath my pants
![]() Those NC nettles may even be meaner than we have on the TN side ![]() I couldn't imagine what my legs would look like if I wore shorts, but am sure I'd need a bigger first aid kit. Are you people in shorts getting into the backcountry? If so do you just stick to nice trails and the many paths that lead from the trail to the creek, or do you get get up close with the nettles, rhodo, greenbriers, or whatever else may be in your path? ![]() |

no the nc nettles are definitely much worse than the tn nettles. In tn, the nettles don't shoot daggers through bullet proof vests or aim directly for your eyeball... |

No, I prefer to save the rapids for when I'm in my kayak. That **** looks way out of hand without a boat, helmet, and lifejacket
Furthermore I lack the balls (sorry Paula ), and skills to ever be there in a kayak anyway. Note to self dry granite - OK, Wet granite BADI'm just REALLY glad you didn't wash down into that ![]() I may just call you the "Man from Sleepy Hollow" from time to time, I hope that is OK ![]() I'm only dissappointed the head cam died before that, that would be some nice footage along with my own slide into chest deep water ![]() Gotta love the Smokies |
