Default cane rod

Met with Walter Babb last week and put in a order for another cane rod. 7' 9" 5 wt payne parabolic taper. I am around 11 months wait time but if it will be worth every penny and day I wait. I have one of his rods currently. Walter is an excellent builder and gentleman.

Hopefully mine will be ready around first of year. It will be 7'3" 5 wt. Can't wait to cast it. Walter is truly a gentleman.

Default so looking back

I was laying here reading older post and seen I made this post in 2012. I did receive that rod and it is gorgeous. I have fished it once. I plan to make this rod take some fish this year and return with a photo of it and a big fish

Default 7'9" babb

I have a 7-9 5wt payne walter built for me several years ago--I have used it hundreds of times until I broke a tip---you will love the way it casts --its action is so fine it is almost fragile feeling, meaning it will cast a fly with o effort on your part-the parabolic action will get a hold of you to the point you'll want to use it everytime you fish---I own 5 of walters rods--one is a 8 ft 6-7 wt he signed the rod as the Cumberland special because I like to fish the cumberlands tail waters at wolf creek dam--that rod will roll cast flies as far as you want to cast them---it has lots of backbone and is beautiful
