At 48.5 I too have taken up an organized diet regime. I am tired of being mistaken for a Sasquatch on the streams.

I plan to fish warm water more (it is local and I can easily take my canine buddy) and worry about work a bit less.

In addition to fishing nearly constantly, I hope to buy this and wear it when I am in the smokies, preferably jumping out at people.

Oh man thanks for the laugh!!! I've been wanting to bust out a bear suit in Cades Cove to freak some people out for a while. I'm sure I could get into all kinds of trouble if I had one (literally and figuratively)...

Talking More fishing this year!

Well, I'll be 68 this year, and hope I'll be able to spent more time in the mountain streams chasing trout. In March, (every year) I take my sons and grandsons for a weekend of fishing the Tellico River and surrounding streams. Three generations in the river, together, bonding, having so much fun !

And the possibility of getting shot by some touron who thinks that they are about to die and happens to be packin'...

However, I would love to join in on this action as well so I will volunteer to be the poor victim being mauled, since I feel that is a safer play on my part...

2013 Goals:

1) Get out of the rat race.
2) Convince my daughter to go to the "U".
3) Surround myself with only the best people.
4) Section hike some of the App Trail.
5) Do more to help educate and introduce the sport of fly-fishing.
6) Finding more time to help conservation efforts.
7) New targets with the stick- Steelhead, Sailfish, Sea run trout and although not new....a BIG tarpon.
To spend one more night in the Smokies back country...a 25 year old Lagavulin and trout on the fire.
9)200+ days on the stream.

I'm pushing 67..trouble is... it's pushing back. You younger fellows in your early forties have the right idea. Enjoy yourself and take care of your yourself now and God willing, you'll live to enjoy the next twenty years even more. I keep telling my wife that my mind is nineteen, but my body, like nearly everyone else, doesn't pay much attention to it.

My motto has always been, a bad luck day of fishing or hunting is always better than the best day at work. I don't even remember the best day of work I've had and could not care less at this point in time.
