Looks like TVA is going to have to push the release rate up even higher on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, there are no tail water streams exempt from the sluicing or spilling at this time and for the immediate future. Additionally, I am sure that these high volume flows over a longer duration of time will result in some level of scouring which certainly could impact some of the entomology of these streams. I am hoping for the best.

Wow, MB!
Those pictures sure help explain why the tree trunks floating down river look like an Oak Ridge rowing regatta! While I agree with Waterwolf that the fishing normally improves after things settle down, I'm not so sure about the current being less. It's really cookin' here in Clinton! Almost looks like fast water going through a riffle. I may have to try out the video on my new camera.![]() Pat

![]() Waterwolf was correct about the currents of the river during high generation schedules like we're seeing on the Clinch. There is so much water moving down river that rocks and other objects cause "pockets" or other areas of slower moving water. Similar situations happen on smaller rivers during floods. One thing I've learned over the years is that this much generation doesn't cause harm to the trout. The fishing does tend to be pretty hot after long periods of generation and the fish are pretty feisty. Sorry for the lame illustration ![]()
