Brown Trout Day!!!
32 degrees this morning, water at 46 and upon arriving I must admit- I was having second thoughts about fishing today.
 Met Frank at Hiwassee Anglers and after checking in with Dean at 7:30 this morning, decided to load the drift boat up and commit to a 4 hr. float. Snow was everywhere!!   Threw streamers, nymphs, dry and then had to break out the secret weapon which thankfully for Frank...I had an extra. The action was non-stop. 15 to the hand at least and all were excellent in health and size.        Today was my first day at the oars and must say I have a new respect for any guide out there with sticks in his hands making a living!! Caught both Browns and rainbows and must say it was an excellent day fishing with a good friend. Surprised to see all that were fishing today 15 -20 on the bank, in stealth mode all had fish in hand as we floated. Observed one young otter and a Giant Red Headed Woodpecker. Thank You, Breck

Great report and pics, Breck. Nice fish that Frank landed. You shouldn't be so modest about your piloting skills because, unless you just forgot to say otherwise, you managed to avoid the icebergs.

Sounds like a fantastic day on the river! I'm impressed that people float the HI in drift boats. Those ledges look a bit dangerous if you don't hit the lines right...glad you had a good time and stayed safe!

Breck, thanks for the great day! You under-rate your piloting skills! You were excellent! Thanks for the "secret weapon", it was the answer to fish on that cold day! Thanks again!

Good report.
The Hiwassee is the most fun river around for taking a boat ride. You can really see what they're capable of. Top to Towee is pretty easy, Towee down takes skill.
