I get the Duckpaddler fishing guide for Labor day weekend. Glad you are getting your fix in so you can coach me.

Counting the days, hours, min until I can get out of here and start heading south for a day on the water with my fishing guide.

Lord willing and the Creek don't rise.

I haven't fished this area at all. I'm heading down for a backpacking trip in early November but might give this a shot the day before I hit the trail.

I'm unfamiliar with the Greenbrier Road's opening. Is this a new unmaintained path or was the area just closed for a while? I've taken my Outback on every gravel road in the park that I knew of.

I see some grey road marked restricted on JoeFred's LPRLP and LPRMP maps, but I can't find where the road 'starts' and how far you can drive.

Thanks!

The road (car road) into Greenbrier Ranger district was closed for about 2 weeks in August from the ranger station up for them to do work on the roads (i think they replaced a culvert/bridge going up porters as well.) So really this was "Re-opening" day because no one was able to fish up there for those 2 weeks...at least without a SERIOUS hike.

The road used to open pretty much to ramses branch, but that was changed long ago. Some of the older topos still indicate the road going further up. A glance at the parks trail map will show you where you can currently drive to.
