Default 100 yr old fish mount needs restoration??

friend has a 100 + year old taxidermy mount of a big fish (caught by his grandfather) from the GSMNP waters and , as you can imagine, the taxidermy is starting to deteriorate. Anyone know of a good local source for antique fish taxidermy restoration?

Joe,
I would recommend him getting a photo replica made. I am unsure if the original could be rehabbed without significantly changing the original material...(?)

If salvaging the original is highly desired; I would choose someone I greatly trust.

Joe,
I can understand their desire! It is precious and has intrinsic value. Maybe some taxidermy guys (hunters) can guide you forward..(?) One tip is to try and have them show a photo of the mount how it once looked if possible...If not; have them create a simple sketch of what they want. Much of this work will involve artistic representation and that can vary. Hope this helps!
