Default Clinch River 8-12-14

I haven't fished the clinch much in July and i fished Sunday morning and today. Today was a really good numbers wise as I got probably 20 or so to hand and I did land one nice rainbow. Most were small fish. But I did end up getting the slam. I lost what looked like a 15" brown or so that broke me off. I fished at the weir and was the first one in and the last one out this morning. More people fishing this morning then I would have thought. But all and all a good morning.

Here's the big rainbow and decent brook.

I fished the weir sat evening during and after the falling water....caught a few nothing like that bow....the water seemed to take forever to drain and we weren't left with much daylight once the water was low.... the brookies are definitely coloring up nicely already.

I started early and caught 15 right away. Then I went for an hour without a hookup. Then once people started leaving I worked my way down and I fished a run after maybe 8 guys fished it all morning and hooked the big rainbow on my second pass working through the hole. Set the hook and the fish didn't budge. Then he proceeded to give me and my 7x tippet a workout lmao

But as far as the brookies they were everywhere. And I did see a few that were already colored up very well.

Thanks! I was gonna ask someone to take my picture with but they just fished through there so I decided otherwise. Haha
